💡 This policy applies to all CCN staff members, full time and part time. Full time CCN staff members are paid by annual salary. Part time staff members are paid by direct deposit on a regular invoicing schedule. Staff member salaries and invoicing schedules remain constant regardless of the number of vacation and sick days taken over the course of the year.

CCN STAFF PTO TRACKER
🌴 Vacation:
- CCN offers unlimited paid time off. Employees are expected to notify the ED about vacation days at least 2 weeks in advance.
- All CCN staff are required to take a minimum of 15 paid vacation days over the course of the calendar year. Staff cannot take more than 10 consecutive days off without approval from the ED.
- CCN staff are encouraged to plan vacation days during times when the organization is less busy, which tends to align with the academic calendar. For example, the start of the Fall Semester (Late August/ Early September) and early/mid November are especially busy times for student organizing. When taking time off during busy times of year, staff are encouraged to plan as early in advance as possible.
- There is a general expectation that staff members do not take time off to the extent that they are unable to fulfill the expectations of the job description. The ED reserves the right to meet with a staff member if they are concerned that the responsibilities listed the staff member’s job description are note being met as a result of PTO.
- CCN holidays days, including the whole week between Christmas and New Years, do not count toward PTO days. See all CCN Holidays on the CCN Holidays page.
- CCN staff members are often also in their final year of university and may need to take time off for graduation. Student graduation is not counted toward PTO days.
⌛Catch-up days
- Weekend Trainings: If you work a weekend (usually friday-sunday), you earn 2 catch-up days. You are required to take off one catch-up day within a week from your return, preferably the day after the trainings end. You are recommended to take the second catch-up day within that same week, but you can also bank it for later.
- CCGs and Retreats: If you work four or more consecutive high-demand days (in-person, more than 8hrs/day ), you earn 3 catch-up days. The first day must be the day after you come back, the two other days you can take off within the next two weeks.
- After a CCG, everyone on the CCN team who participated commits to two days of rest immediately after, on Monday-Tuesday. Wednesday will be a soft return with no meetings. You may take off Wednesday as well or bank that as your third catch up day to use within two weeks.
- There will always be exceptions to this rule. As a team, we will talk through and coordinate our catch-up days after in-person events.
🤒 Sick Days:
- CCN staff are encouraged to take time off when feeling ill. Staff are expected to coordinate to the best of their ability with the CCN team to ensure their responsibilities are covered by other team members while they are off.
