💡 This is CCN’s policy for dismissing members of CCN (individuals in CCN member groups, working groups, etc.)
</aside>
The removal of members from CCN spaces will only be made when a certain member is creating an unsafe space for others and/or directly inhibiting our ability to our ability to pursue CCN’s mission
Creating an unsafe space:
This can include, but is not limited to:
- Bullying
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Other behavior, depending of the experience of other CCN members in the space
Directly inhibiting CCN’s mission:
This can include, but is not limited to:
- Blocking others from sharing resources and skills
- Preventing connections
- Not allowing others to speak and share opinions, experiences, etc.
- Other behavior, depending of the experience of other CCN members in the space
Process for removal:
Any of the following can trigger the evaluation of a member of a CCN space:
- Another CCN member believes that the member-in-question has engaged in one of the above behaviors. The CCN member can hold the member-in-question accountable and try to express tension directly to resolve the conflict. If the issue does not get resolved or if the CCN member does not feel safe/comfortable addressing the member-in-question directly, the CCN member alerts a member of the staff or Planning Committee.
- The member-in-question has already been removed from or asked to leave a student organization that is a member of CCN.
- A staff member or PC member has witnessed one or more of the above behaviors in the member-in-question.
